MOLD REMEDIATION

Mold, in a home or business, can have wide ranging effects to both the structure itself, and the people who frequent the building. Due to the health concerns of mold and the intricate steps necessary to eradicate the mold problem Dolbier Disaster Restoration stands ready to perform our specialized remediation program. Mold growth results from the failure of quick and proper drying following water intrusion. Dolbier, a fully licensed General Contractor is a member of both ASCR (Association of Specialists in Cleaning and Restoration) and The IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration). Whether you are located in Boone, North Wilkesboro, Banner Elk, Blowing Rock or anywhere in between Dolbier Disaster Restoration is here to help. As of February 2016 Dolbier is proud to announce the addition of a new office in Wilmington, North Carolina. This expansion affords Dolbier Disaster Restoration to now serve the High Country and surrounding Western NC counties as well as four Eastern NC counties: New Hanover, Brunswick, Pender, and Onslow. In the midst of chaos, you need an experienced business with a proven track record and solid relationships with leading insurance providers. We are open 24/7, 365 days a year. Call us.

What are the Health Concerns?

Some molds can produce mycotoxins which can cause health problems in humans and pets. Particularly vulnerable to illnesses are infants/children, elderly, people with immune-compromised systems, people with respiratory problems, and pregnant women. Adverse health effects reported have included reoccurring nosebleeds, headaches, rashes, extreme fatigue, dizziness, memory loss, asthma, intestinal distress. As an information hungry society, we are learning more and more about high exposures to mold and its negative effects on our health. The old cliché "It's Better to Be Safe than Sorry" appears to be a smart motto for today's world.

Structural Cleaning

In some cases, the cleaning of a structure will suffice when it comes to mold remediation. Mold does not feed off of non-organic material. In some cases it is possible that mold growth is enabled by excess dirt and dust within the structure. Our experienced professionals are skilled in determining the cause of mold and removing said causes to effectively eradicate the mold problem.

Demolition

Often, there are porous materials with excessive mold growth that need to be discarded. Having the correct type of containment stops spores from spreading throughout a structure especially during the demolition phase. Many times, tiles in schools or drywall in homes for example, must come out.

Containment

Containment of discarded materials is a critical step in the mold remediation process. Our experienced professionals are able to determine the proper steps to take when removing items so as not to contaminate other areas in the residential or commercial property. Dolbier Disaster Restoration will determine the correct amount and degree of containment for each job to keep your structure, and those that frequent the building, safe.
